Why was the message editing feature turned off?

According to officials, Telegram’s message editing feature was used to spread false rumors related to the paper leak. In this, the criminals used to send any message before the exam and after the exam, they edited the same message and sent real questions in it. Telegram’s edit feature specifically means that the old time is displayed even after editing the message. Due to this, it often seems that the question paper was leaked before the exam. This creates an atmosphere of fear in people. Considering all these things, the government has decided to stop the message editing feature in Telegram.
