He had said, ‘My daughter was the first to give me this good news. I was very happy to know this and I wholeheartedly thank the Government of India that they considered me worthy of this honour.

When there was a deep shock due to illness

Alka Yagnik has been going through a difficult phase for some time. In the year 2024, she herself told her fans through an Instagram post that she was suffering from a very rare hearing disorder.

In his post he had written, ‘According to the doctors, due to a viral attack, I have suffered from a rare disease called ‘Sensory Neural Nerve Hearing Loss’. This sudden big crisis has completely shaken me. I am trying to recover from this difficult situation, please all of you remember me in your prayers.

Despite this illness, his magic towards music did not diminish. Recently, the magic of her voice was heard once again in Imtiaz Ali’s film Amar Singh Chamkila (2024), where she sang the song ‘Naram Kalja’ under the music direction of AR Rahman.
