11 India Bound Ships Crossed Strait of Hormuz: 11 ships coming to India have crossed the Strait of Hormuz, large quantities of crude oil, LPG and fertilizers will be supplied.

New Delhi. After the peace agreement between America and Iran, the global energy supply crisis is now expected to end. There is a good news for India from the Strait of Hormuz. Regarding the ships present in the Persian Gulf area, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal has said that since the signing of the MoU between Iran and America on June 17, 11 ships coming to India have passed through the Strait of Hormuz. As of today, 10 Indian flagged ships are still in the Persian Gulf area. Apart from these 10 ships, two of our Indian ships have gone to the Persian Gulf from this side, which means that Hormuz has opened from both sides and movement of ships is taking place.

Randhir Jaiswal said the 11 ships coming to India include three Indian-flagged crude oil tankers, each carrying 2,85,000 metric tonnes of crude oil. Also included is one foreign-flagged LPG carrier, one foreign-flagged crude oil tanker and six foreign-flagged bulk carriers loaded with fertilizer. We hope that the rest of the Indian flagged ships, whose numbers I just told you, will also be able to pass through that area soon.

MEA spokesperson said, we are closely monitoring all the developments related to West Asia. As far as our energy supply is concerned, you are well aware that our policy is based on national interest. Our policy is to provide energy to 140 crore people at affordable rates and from different sources, keeping in mind the interests of 140 crore people. I have said this many times and our policy still remains the same.
