Big censor action in Welcome to the Jungle, 18 cuts made in Akshay Kumar’s film, a unique record
New Delhi . Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ has come into discussion even before its release. The Censor Board has made a total of 18 changes in this film, after which it has become the most censored family comedy film of Akshay Kumar’s career so far. These changes made in the film extend from dialogues to some scenes.
According to reports, the Censor Board has given instructions to remove or change many double meaning dialogues present in the film. Apart from this, some sensitive references, which are said to include references to Kashmir, have also been modified. The bikini scenes of actresses Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandes in some parts of the film have also caught the censor’s attention, where close-up shots have been removed or edited.
This is not the first time that the Censor Board has used the scissors on Akshay Kumar’s films. Earlier, 27 cuts were also made in his film ‘Oh My God 2’. That film received an A certificate and was later successful at the box office. At the same time, 5 cuts were made in ‘Bhoot Bangla’, which included some adult or double meaning content.
Apart from this, minor cuts were also made in films like ‘Bachchan Pandey’ and ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, but ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ has become special in this matter because maximum of 18 changes have been recorded in it.
The director of the film is Ahmed Khan and the film is going to be released in theaters on June 26. Given the popularity of the franchise already, there are a lot of expectations attached to the film. However, how much impact these changes made by the Censor Board will have on the story and presentation of the film will become clear only after its release.
At present, this film is in the headlines not only for its starcast or comedy, but also because of its censor record.
