Massive fire breaks out again in Delhi, destruction in slums near Udyog Bhawan, 20 fire engines on the spot
New Delhi: A massive fire suddenly broke out on Wednesday in the slums located near the Udyog Bhawan area of the capital Delhi. The fire created chaos in the area and spread panic among the people nearby. As soon as information about the incident was received, several teams of the fire department reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations.
20 fire engines reached the spot
According to fire department officials, considering the seriousness of the fire, 20 fire tenders were sent to the spot. Fire brigade personnel acted swiftly and tried to stop the fire from spreading to nearby slums and other places. After several hours of hard work the fire was brought under control.
Cooling operation still in progress
Officials said that the main fire has been extinguished, but cooling operations are continuing in view of safety. Its purpose is to ensure that no spark becomes the cause of fire again. Fire department personnel are continuously monitoring the entire area.
Investigation into the cause of the fire begins
At present the cause of the fire has not been known. The concerned agencies are investigating the matter. At the initial level, efforts are being made to find out whether the fire broke out due to some technical fault, short circuit or some other reason.
No casualties reported
It is a matter of relief that no one has been reported injured or lost their lives in this incident so far. However, there is a possibility of damage to many slums and the goods kept in them due to the fire.
After the incident, local administration, fire department and other concerned agencies were present on the spot. Officials kept a constant eye on the situation and appealed to people to maintain a safe distance. After the fire was brought under control, the situation in the area has started becoming normal.
