China wins in supercomputer battle, snatches NO-1 crown from US; The world was stunned to see the speed of LineShine
World’s Fastest China LineShine Supercomputer: China has once again hoisted its flag in the field of global technology and high-performance computing. LineShine, the new supercomputer based in Shenzhen, China, has snatched the crown of the world’s most powerful computing system from America. ‘ISC’ held in Hamburg, Germany on Tuesday The ‘TOP500’ released during the computing conference. Lineshine has been ranked number-1 in the ranking.
China returns to the top after 9 years
This is a historic achievement for China in the world of supercomputing. This is the first time since 2017 that a Chinese supercomputer has topped this global list. Lineshine has left America’s most powerful system El Capitan behind, giving it a tough competition. According to tests, the performance of Lineshine has been found to be more than 20 percent faster than El Capitan.
Fully equipped with indigenous technology
LineShine’s biggest strength is its indigenous technology. While most supercomputers around the world rely on American microprocessors, China built Lineshine entirely with its own domestically designed processors.
This strategy of Beijing is being considered a big step towards reducing dependence on foreign technology in the field of advanced computing. Jack Dongara, a renowned professor at the University of Tennessee, recently inspected this machine at the Shenzhen Cloud Computing Center and confirmed its technical superiority.
2.2 Exaflops recorded speed
Talking about the technical data, the continuous working speed of Lineshine has been recorded at 2.2 Exaflops. Exaflops is a scale that measures how many trillions of calculations a supercomputer can perform in one second. This speed of Lineshine makes it the fastest computer in the world for any kind of scientific research, meteorology and strategic data analysis.

Global balance of power: Even though China has regained the number-1 position, America’s influence in the top ranking still remains. Currently, 3 of the top 4 supercomputers in the world are still owned by the US, with El Capitan now slipping to second place. At the same time, from Europe, Germany’s ‘Jupiter Booster’ Has been ranked fifth in this list. Experts believe that this new achievement of China will further intensify global competition in the field of technology.
