Heavy rain begins in Mumbai-Thane, IMD issues A to Z alert for all 36 districts of Maharashtra
The special moment for which the people of Maharashtra were eagerly waiting for the last several weeks has finally arrived. Monsoon has arrived with full force in entire Maharashtra including the metropolitan city of Mumbai. Heavy rains have started in many parts of the state and the monsoon line has now spread rapidly over the entire area.
According to the latest forecast of the Meteorological Center (IMD), there is a possibility of torrential rains in different parts of the state in the next seven to eight days. On one hand, this monsoon rain has brought great relief to the common people who are battling the scorching and scorching heat, while on the other hand, the faces of the farmers sitting ready for Kharif sowing have also lit up with happiness. Along with this, due to this continuous rain, the water level in all the major reservoirs and dams of the state is expected to increase, due to which there can be a big improvement in the situation of drinking water shortage in the coming time.
‘Red and Orange Alert’ issued for Konkan districts including Thane and Mumbai
The Meteorological Department has issued strict guidelines in view of the possibility of huge devastation in the coastal areas and Konkan region. ‘Yellow alert’ has been issued for heavy rain in Palghar district on Tuesday and Wednesday. At the same time, ‘Yellow Alert’ will be applicable for the country’s financial capital Mumbai and neighboring district Thane for the next three days from Tuesday. During this period, there is a possibility of strong and stormy winds at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour in the coastal areas.
Talking about other districts of Konkan, the Meteorological Department has issued ‘Orange Alert’ for Raigarh district, while ‘Yellow Alert’ will be effective here for the next four days from Wednesday. The most worrying situation is in Ratnagiri district, where ‘Red Alert’ (indicating extremely heavy rain) has been issued for Tuesday. There will be ‘Orange Alert’ in Ratnagiri for Wednesday and ‘Yellow Alert’ for the next three days. At the same time, ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued in Sindhudurg district on Wednesday and immediately after that, ‘Orange Alert’ of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued for the next two days.
Strong movement of clouds in North Maharashtra and Pune division
Jalgaon district of North Maharashtra is expected to receive good rain and thundershowers at isolated places today and tomorrow. ‘Yellow alert’ has been issued for Nashik district from Tuesday till the next three days. Similarly, the Meteorological Department has announced ‘Yellow Alert’ for the historical Ahilyanagar district from Tuesday for the next four days, which will benefit the farmers.
If we talk about Pune division, ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued on Tuesday for the famous ghat (hill) areas of Pune, where tourists have been advised to exercise caution. ‘Yellow alert’ will continue for the next five days for the remaining plains of the district. Apart from this, ‘Yellow Alert’ has also been issued for Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, Solapur and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar districts of continuous rain for the next four days.
Alert in Parbhani, Nanded, Hingoli and Amravati divisions also
There is a possibility of good rain in Jalna district of Marathwada on Wednesday, while there are chances of heavy rain here on June 26. Along with this, the Meteorological Department has issued a special ‘Yellow Alert’ for Parbhani, Nanded and Hingoli districts on June 26. There is every possibility of heavy rain in Nanded district even before this i.e. on 25th June.
On the other hand, for the residents of Latur and Dharashiv districts, there is a possibility of heavy rain for four consecutive days from Wednesday and a ‘Yellow Alert’ has also been issued for this. ‘Yellow alert’ will remain in full force for the next two days for Akola district of Western Maharashtra and for the next three days for Amravati division from Tuesday.
Possibility of continuous rain for 5 days in Chandrapur and Nagpur of Vidarbha
‘Yellow alert’ has been issued for Bhandara district of Eastern Maharashtra i.e. Vidarbha for the next three days from Tuesday, while ‘Yellow alert’ will be effective for two days from Wednesday in Buldhana district. Chandrapur district of Vidarbha will have bad weather for five consecutive days from Tuesday and there will be heavy rain due to ‘yellow alert’. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has also announced ‘Yellow Alert’ for densely forested Gadchiroli (four days from tomorrow) and Gondia districts (three days from tomorrow).
‘Yellow alert’ has been issued for major districts of Vidarbha like Nagpur, Wardha, Washim and Yavatmal for the next four days from Tuesday. Out of this, ‘Yellow Alert’ will remain in effect in Wardha and Yavatmal districts also on 27th June. Meteorologists have issued a special warning saying that in the areas where ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued, there is a strong possibility of dusty winds blowing at a storm speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and lightning during the rainy season.
