To fulfill his passion of drinking expensive liquor and making new girlfriends, he became a train thief, police seized jewelery worth Rs 15 lakhs.

Indore GRP has succeeded in arresting a vicious accused who committed theft incidents in trains. The police have recovered gold jewelery worth Rs 15 lakh from his possession. The revelations made by the thief during interrogation surprised the police. The accused told that he is fond of drinking expensive liquor, is fond of making different girlfriends, is fond of traveling in aeroplanes, to fulfill this he steals in trains.

According to the GRP, the accused had committed the theft with Meena, a resident of Indore, on March 16, 2026. The woman was traveling by train from Ahmedabad to Indore, when the accused stole her purse. Precious gold jewelery was kept in the purse.

After the incident, GRP formed several special teams to search for the accused. During the investigation, police teams scanned more than 500 CCTV footage from various cities including Faridabad, Bareilly, Moradabad, Badaun. On the basis of technical evidence and footage, the accused was identified and arrested from Neemuch.

Gold jewelery worth Rs 15 lakh seized

Police have recovered a ladies purse, small purse, gold necklace weighing four tola, ear tops weighing eight grams, two gold bracelets weighing five tola and four rings weighing two tola from the accused. The total value of 11.8 tola gold jewelery is estimated to be around Rs 15 lakh. Police investigation has revealed that the accused used to commit theft incidents to fulfill his expensive hobbies. He was fond of drinking expensive liquor, going to bars and making new girlfriends.

Theft cases registered in different states

Police said that many cases of theft have been registered against the thief in different police stations in different states of the country. The accused was changing his location frequently due to which the police had to struggle a lot to catch him. Investigation has also revealed that the accused used to abscond from the spot after committing the incident. At present, the police is interrogating the accused and information is also being collected regarding his other crimes.
