Donald Trump will present World Cup trophy to 2026 champions
FIFA World Cup 2026 is currently going on in US, Canada and Mexico with the final set to be played in New York.
The final of the tournament will be played on July 19 in the MetLife Stadium.
The event will be attended by thousands of fans from across the globe, former athletes, government officials and celebrities.
It has been reported that the US President Donald Trump will also be in attendance at the stadium.
Trump is set to present the World Cup trophy to the 2026 champions alongside FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
The FIFA boss told Fox and Friends “We will be together with the president (Trump) enjoying the final and handing the trophy to the winner, of course, together.”
Previously, at the 2018 and 2022 tournaments, Gianni himself has presented the trophy to the winners, France and Argentina in Moscow and Qatar, respectively.
The grand event is also set to feature the first ever half-time show that will be headlined by Shakira, BTS and Madonna.
