Big convenience for UPI users, now all autopay will be visible in one app, payment tracking will be easy

New Delhi. A new and convenient system is going to be started soon for UPI users. National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is working on a feature through which customers will be able to view and track all their UPI autopay (e-mandates) on any one UPI app.

Currently, if a person has set up autopay on different UPI apps for services like electricity bill, water bill, OTT subscription, insurance premium or loan EMI, he has to visit the respective app for information about each payment. Once the new system is implemented, all autopays will be visible in one place, irrespective of which UPI platform they are activated through.

According to the information, NPCI has instructed payment service providers and related companies to make necessary technical changes in their networks to implement this facility.

  • Will get relief from the problem of double payment

Through the new facility, customers will be able to easily know how many of their autopays are active and for which service regular payment is being made. This will reduce the possibility of unintentional extra or double payments. Users will also be able to better monitor their financial expenses.

Information in one app, but changes will have to be made on the old platform

However, if a customer wishes to cancel or make changes to an autopay, he or she must use the same UPI app from where the e-mandate was originally created. All apps will display only autopay information, while the user will be redirected to the original app for modification or management.

    Record increase in autopay transactions

The use of UPI Autopay is continuously increasing rapidly. According to NPCI data, the country’s top 10 banks processed about 1.6 billion autopay transactions in May 2026. In the same period last year, this number was 57.7 crore. In this way, autopay transactions have increased almost three times in a year.

Today Autopay is being used extensively for regular payments like EMIs, insurance premiums, mutual fund SIPs, mobile recharges, electricity-water bills and OTT subscriptions.

Why is this new feature important?

Amidst the increasing use of autopay services, many customers forget which services they have allowed auto payment for. Sometimes payments fail due to insufficient funds in the account. NPCI believes that having all e-mandates visible in one place will enable customers to control and manage their payments more effectively.
