Mumbai First Eknath Shinde and then six MPs shocked Shiv Sena-UBT Chief Uddhav Thackeray and changed sides. Now the situation is not looking good even in the opposition Mahavikas Aghadi alliance in Maharashtra. Mahavikas Aghadi had called a meeting of its MLAs on Wednesday evening. 23 out of 60 MLAs of Mahavikas Aghadi did not attend this meeting. NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar and his close aide Jayant Patil also did not attend the meeting due to personal reasons. According to news channel NDTV, Uddhav Thackeray felt pain after seeing this scene. He raised the question that it is a matter to think whether the opposition is really united?

SHARAD PAWAR

The issues to be raised in the Assembly were to be discussed in the meeting of Mahavikas Aghadi. Uddhav Thackeray said in the meeting that as Mahavikas Aghadi, we are a big force in Maharashtra. We have to maintain coordination among ourselves. Uddhav also said that in future his, Sharad Pawar’s party and Congress will hold joint public meetings. So that the message goes to the public that the opposition is united. Regarding his MPs being rebellious, Uddhav Thackeray expressed pain over their not being united in the meeting. Uddhav said that Mahavikas Aghadi should become strong and work unitedly in the session of Maharashtra Legislature.

According to the news of the channel, Uddhav Thackeray said in the meeting that the focus should be on those who are with him. Let those who left you go. Mahavikas Aghadi mainly includes Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena-UBT, Sharad Pawar’s NCP-SP and Congress. Some other parties are also in it. The number of MLAs of Uddhav’s party is 20. Whereas, Congress has 16 MLAs and Sharad Pawar’s NCP-SP has 10 MLAs. Uddhav Thackeray had put pressure on BJP to become CM after the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections. BJP did not come under pressure. Then Uddhav separated from his old ally and formed the government with Sharad Pawar and Congress. After which in 2022, Eknath Shinde rebelled with 40 MLAs and even acquired the name and election symbol of Shiv Sena.
