‘Vision Ocean’ and Global South will get new strength

PM Modi described Seychelles as a valuable maritime neighbor of India. He said that Seychelles is a very important partner in advancing the interests of our ‘Vision Ocean’ (Vision MAHASAGAR) and the Global South. The Prime Minister said, “I am extremely looking forward to bilateral talks with my friend and President of Seychelles, Dr. Patrick Herminie. During this visit, I will also have the honor of addressing the National Assembly of Seychelles. At the same time, I am also excited to meet the Indian community living there.”

Modi will become the first Indian PM to address the Parliament of Seychelles

The visit, which runs from June 27 to June 29, is being held at the invitation of Seychelles President Patrick Harmini. After the successful visit of President Harmini to India in February 2026, now this visit of PM Modi will take the strong relations between the two countries to new heights. During this visit, PM Modi will address the National Assembly (Parliament) of Seychelles, and he will become the first Prime Minister of India to do so. The two leaders will review mutual cooperation and discuss promoting security and prosperity in the Indian Ocean region.

50 years of diplomatic relations and presence of the Indian Navy

The visit is also historic because India and Seychelles are also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations. A contingent of the Indian Armed Forces and two warships of the Indian Navy are also participating in this historic National Day Parade, showcasing the deep defense and maritime cooperation between the two countries.
