Winter cold prevails in hill stations even in the month of June, know the temperatures of Kullu-Manali and Shimla.

This time in Himachal Pradesh, the monsoon which provides relief from the scorching heat will arrive a little late. However, pre-monsoon rains have started in most parts of the state, which has made the weather very pleasant. After a long wait of about two-three days in Shimla, the favorite capital of tourists and local people, the process of rain is continuing since around 10 am on Wednesday morning.

Due to the continuous rain of relief drops from the sky, a huge drop in the temperature of Shimla city has been recorded. Due to this cold wind, people have started feeling winter-like chill and cold even in the last week of June. According to the latest estimate of Meteorological Center (IMD) Shimla, there is no possibility of completely clear weather in Himachal Pradesh till June 30. During this period, intermittent rain activities will continue in different parts of the state.

The most severe form of weather seen in Rohru and Bilaspur in the last 24 hours

If we look at the weather data of the last 24 hours, different weather patterns were seen in different parts of Devbhoomi. In Himachal Pradesh, the highest rainfall of 6.0 mm has been recorded in Rohru, a hilly area of Shimla district. Apart from this, 5.6 mm rainfall has been recorded in Barthin of Bilaspur, 5.0 mm in Chaupal, 2.0 mm in Chamba and Bhabanagar of Kinnaur.

At the same time, incidents of loud thunder and lightning have been reported in Bhuntar city. The maximum disturbance was seen in Bilaspur district, where strong and dusty winds blew at a storm speed of about 63 kilometers per hour, which surprised the people. According to the Meteorological Department, despite all these changes, at present the average minimum temperature of the state has been recorded only 0.1 degree Celsius more than normal.

The weather of the hilly state will remain bad from 25th to 30th June.

According to the latest and revised forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is every possibility of light to moderate rainfall in many parts of the state on June 25. On the next day i.e. June 26, similar cloud movement and rain may continue in many areas of the state. It is a matter of relief that on June 27 and 28, the pace of rain will slow down and there are chances of showers at only a few places.

Immediately after this, i.e. on 29th and 30th June, the weather will change once again and relatively large and widespread heavy rain activities can be seen in the state. Despite the bad weather conditions, it is a matter of relief that at present no special ‘Orange or Red’ alert has been issued by the department regarding heavy thunderstorm, lightning or destructive strong winds on any day.

The mercury dropped to 6.9 degrees in Kukumseri, see what is the temperature in your city.

If we talk about the minimum temperature in different cities of the state, then the nights have become very cold in the mountains. The lowest temperature in the state of 6.9 degrees Celsius has been recorded in Kukumseri of Lahaul-Spiti. Apart from this, mercury was 10.2 in Keylong, 11.2 in Tabo, 11.8 in Narkanda, 12.6 in Kalpa, 13.8 in famous tourist spot Kufri, 14.0 in Bharmour, 15.2 in Mashobra, 16.4 in Dharamshala, 16.5 in Manali, 16.6 in Shimla, 17.3 in Reckong Peo. Monsoon speed became very slow, it became difficult to reach Himachal on time

Generally, June 25 is considered to be the normal and fixed date of arrival of South-West Monsoon in Himachal Pradesh, but this time the chances of it arriving on its scheduled schedule appear to be very weak. According to meteorologists, the Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) has currently stopped around Dahanu, Wardha, Raipur, Daltonganj, Motihari and 28.3 degrees North/83 degrees East.

The department says that within the next 2 to 3 days, the monsoon may gradually advance and cover some more new parts of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, while its entry in the remaining areas of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand will happen gradually in the subsequent days.

Due to such slow pace, it may take a few more days for the real monsoon clouds to reach Himachal Pradesh. It is worth noting that last year (in 2025), the monsoon had made its strong arrival in the entire state before time i.e. on June 20, whereas this time its movement has remained comparatively very slow. However, it is a matter of relief that at present Western Disturbance and local weather systems are fully active in the hilly state, due to which intermittent pre-monsoon rainfall activities are expected to continue in the state for the next one week.
