VOI joins $255M investment in Vietnam’s tourism and hospitality sector

The investment was made through convertible dividend preference shares (CDPS), with participation from SeaTown Holdings, an investment company under Singapore’s Temasek. According to the investors, the financing structure is designed to align the interests of the company and its strategic shareholders.

VOI said the transaction reflects its strategy of expanding into sectors expected to benefit from rising domestic consumption and the continued recovery of tourism.

“Vietnam remains one of the region’s most dynamic economies with strong long-term growth potential,” a VOI representative said. “The company is well positioned to benefit from rising domestic demand, increasing international visitor arrivals, and the continued growth of Vietnam’s tourism industry.”

Established in 2008 as a joint venture between the Oman Investment Authority and Vietnam’s State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC), VOI serves as an investment platform connecting capital from Oman and the Gulf region with Vietnam.

Over the past 18 years, the fund has invested in sectors including education, healthcare, renewable energy, water infrastructure, and transportation.

Its portfolio includes investments in Vinmec hospitals, educational institutions, the Song Duong and Song Hau water plants, Saigon Water Company, the Trung Luong-My Thuan Expressway, and a rooftop solar platform serving industrial parks and foreign-invested manufacturers.

According to VOI, the investment represents a further diversification of its portfolio while supporting Vietnam’s long-term economic development.

The hospitality operator said the proceeds will support business expansion, operational improvements, and service enhancements as it continues to develop its tourism and leisure offerings.

The company added that participation from international investors, including VOI and Temasek-linked SeaTown Holdings, reflects growing interest from global financial institutions in Vietnam’s tourism sector.

Founded in 2003, Vinpearl operates 60 hospitality, entertainment, and leisure facilities across 20 provinces and cities. Its portfolio includes more than 17,500 hotel and resort rooms, 16 theme parks, six golf courses, three convention and performance venues, two wildlife conservation parks, a horse academy, and several large-scale live entertainment productions in destinations such as Nha Trang and Phu Quoc.
