MSMEs are the backbone of Developed India 2047, no compromise on quality: Vice President

New Delhi. Vice President CP Radhakrishnan said that Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of India’s journey towards Developed India 2047. He said that their role is very important in the economic progress of the country.

Vice President CP Radhakrishnan said this while addressing the ‘MSME Day 2026-Entrepreneurial India’ function organized at Dr. Ambedkar International Center in New Delhi on Saturday. In his address on this occasion, he emphasized that quality can never be compromised.

CP Radhakrishnan said that innovation, adoption of technology and continuous learning are essential for the long-term success of micro, small and medium enterprises. He urged entrepreneurs to embrace Artificial Intelligence as an opportunity for growth rather than a threat.

Describing his entrepreneurial journey, the Vice President recalled how he started a small clothing business after graduation with the financial help of his father. He said that before coming into public life, due to dedication, continuous learning and hard work, he built a big business of export of knitwear. Encouraging the young entrepreneurs, he told them not to get discouraged by the initial challenges but instead focus on achieving mastery in their chosen field.

The Vice President also launched a series of transformative digital platforms, portals and publications aimed at empowering MSMEs across India on the occasion. These include PMEGP 2.0 Portal, Samadhan 2.0 Portal, PMS Portal, MSME Global Mart 2.0 Portal, MSME Testing Portal and MSME Idea Hackathon 6.0.

The event was attended by Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Minister of State for MSME Shobha Karandlaje, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) Chairman Manoj Kutar and senior officials of the ministry and its organizations. Apart from this, policy-makers, industry leaders, women entrepreneurs, financial institutions, academicians and other key stakeholders from the MSME ecosystem also participated in the event.
