New Delhi: The situation is becoming increasingly tense amid the ongoing protests in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK). Meanwhile, reports of shortage of food items, fuel and medicines in the area have further increased the problems of the common people.

allegations against leaders

Local residents, transport workers and opposition leaders allege that the supply of essential commodities is being disrupted in the protest-affected areas. Although the administration is denying any kind of blockade, complaints of shortage of essential goods are coming from many areas. This is the reason why dissatisfaction is increasing among the people.

Impact on markets and business activities

It is being told that due to the ongoing agitation and bandh led by Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), markets and business activities have already been affected. Due to this, the situation has become difficult as the supply of essential commodities has been affected. Not only this, in many areas people are also facing difficulties in procuring daily needs.

Shortage of petrol and diesel

Let us tell you, there are also reports of shortage of petrol and diesel in Muzaffarabad, Poonch and other major areas. Many petrol pumps are closed, while at some places people have to buy fuel at higher prices. Complaints of disruption in internet and communication services have also increased the problems of the people. Local residents say that the availability of ration and medicines has been affected. An increase in the prices of flour and other food items has been recorded in some areas. People allege that the crisis is continuously deepening due to the bandh and interruption in supply.

Opposition party alleged

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s main opposition party has also accused the administration of obstructing the movement of essential goods. The party says that due to this the common citizens are facing serious difficulties. The current dispute in the area is related to political representation and electoral issues.

Despite the government banning the agitating organization, the protests are continuing. A large number of people are taking to the streets in many cities including Muzaffarabad and Rawalkot, due to which the situation is expected to become more sensitive in the coming days.
