Haldwani: A surprising case has come to light in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, where a young man who returned after studying abroad was arrested for stealing women’s undergarments. During police interrogation, the accused claimed that he was going through mental stress and he got strange satisfaction from such actions.

The incident is being reported from Nawabi Road area on the night of 19th June. A woman lodged a complaint with the police that at around 3:23 am, an unknown person entered her house by climbing the wall and stole women’s clothes, including undergarments and salwar, which were drying outside. The entire incident was recorded in a nearby CCTV camera, which later went viral on social media.

Identification and arrest through CCTV

After the complaint, the police registered the case and started investigation. With the help of CCTV footage, the accused was identified and arrested from Panchayat Ghar Road area. According to the police, the accused has studied abroad and returned to India during the Corona epidemic.

Shocking revelation during interrogation

During police interrogation, the accused revealed his name as Niket Singh Bisht. He admitted that he had started this act on the advice of a friend. The accused said that by doing this he felt relief from stress and mental satisfaction.

Police officials said that the mental condition of the accused does not appear to be normal. He may be affected by mental problems like kleptomania, in which a person develops the habit of stealing things without need.
