Temperature reached 40 degrees in European countries, record of many years broken

Berlin. At present, European countries are scorching in intense heat (Intense heat in European countries). New temperature records were recorded in many countries from Scandinavia to the Alps. In some countries including Germany the temperature reached 40 degrees Celsius. The heat wave is now moving towards the eastern regions of Europe.

New temperature records were set in Germany, Denmark and Czech Republic on Saturday. A new standard was created for the month of June in Switzerland. Similar records have been broken in France and Britain this week.

Scientists said this unbearable heatwave is due to man-made climate change. German federal parliamentarian and former Green Party leader Katrin Goering-Eckardt said on Twitter that this is a serious health crisis.

The heat was so high in Berlin that the temperature reached 39 degrees Celsius on Saturday. Police deployed two water cannons in the city to spray water on people seeking relief.

  • A new record of 41.5 degrees Celsius was set in Mockern-Drewitz in the eastern state of Saxony-Anhalt on Saturday, according to Germany’s weather service. Which surpassed the record of 41.3 degrees Celsius set a day earlier in Saarbrucken near the French border.
