Ayodhya, 28 June. The investigation into the Ram temple offering theft case has intensified. On Sunday, Ayodhya Police simultaneously raided the houses and other places of eight accused including the main accused Ramshankar Yadav alias Tinnu Yadav. The objective of the investigation team was to collect new evidence related to the case and examine the documents related to the accused.
Police reached Tinnu Yadav’s house, found it locked
When the police reached the house of main accused Tinnu Yadav, they found it locked. It is being told that before the police arrived, his wife locked the house and went somewhere. Similarly, the house of accused Manish Yadav was also found locked. Janmabhoomi police station and area officer (CO) were also present on the spot.
Eight accused arrested so far
So far, Ramshankar Yadav alias Tinnu, Avinash Shukla, Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra, Manish Kumar Yadav, Karunesh Pandey, Rama Shankar Mishra and Subhash Srivastava have been arrested in the Ram Temple offering theft case. The police is investigating the role of all these in detail.
Tinnu Yadav accused of responsibility of counting system
According to the investigation, Tinnu Yadav used to supervise the counting of offerings in the temple. It is alleged that the keys of donation boxes and cash counting room were also with him. Police claim that he played an influential role in the arrangements of the temple. The investigating agencies are also probing his properties and sources of income.
Anukalp Mishra accused of hiding cash
According to the police, Anukalp Mishra was posted in the cash counting room. The investigation alleges that he took out the cash during counting, hid it in the bathroom and later took it out. Police are also investigating whether he made property with the stolen money or not.
12 lakh rupees have been recovered from Lavkush Mishra’s house
It is alleged that Lavkush Mishra was involved in counting the cash and other valuables offered. During the investigation, Rs 12 lakh has already been recovered from his house. Police say that investigation into recovery and financial transactions in the case is still going on.
Subhash was in charge of the cash counting staff.
Another accused in the case, Subhash Srivastava, is said to be in-charge of the cash counting staff. He is facing charges of negligence in surveillance and alleged involvement in a theft conspiracy. The police are investigating the role of all the accused separately.
