Pakistan: Scratches on face and body, husband used to beat her badly; Pakistani man tortured his French wife for 12 years
French woman rescued in Pakistan: A 54-year-old French woman and her five children have been rescued from north-western Pakistan. It is alleged that the woman’s husband was keeping her hostage and torturing her for more than a decade. The man (whose identity has not been disclosed) was arrested after a raid on his home in Bara city of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on June 18, The Independent quoted police as saying. The action took place when one of the couple’s sons managed to escape from the house and inform the authorities. He further said that Sylvia Yasmina and her children were living in a small, “shabby room”. Police said that many members of the family had injury marks on their bodies. Yasmina repeatedly told police that the family had been living under the strict control of her Pakistani husband since 2014, when they moved to Pakistan from Australia.
Injuries on wife’s face and body
They were married in 2003 in Australia, where the accused was allegedly “living illegally”. Pakistan’s Geo TV quoted him as saying in the complaint that he had marks on his face and body due to torture. They urged the authorities to initiate criminal proceedings against him and described him as a violent person who abused his family on a daily basis. He also claimed that he was prevented from talking to others.

Now the woman will return to France
She said, “Our freedom was taken away from us; my husband did not take care of us as he should have as a husband and the father of my children. He beat us and put pressure on our lives on a daily basis.” “I felt that not only was my future ruined, my children’s future would also be ruined.” After the rescue, Pakistan’s Foreign Office informed the French Embassy about the intention of the woman and her children to return to France.
