PM Modi honored with ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ in Seychelles, receives 34th international honor
PM expressed gratitude to the people and government of Seychelles for honoring him
Victoria. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with the honorary title of ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ by Seychelles President Patrick Herminy. This is the 34th international honor he has received from a foreign country. Prime Minister Modi thanked Seychelles for this honor and dedicated it to the countries that are fighting the challenges of climate change.
After receiving the honour, Prime Minister Modi wrote on social media, I am deeply grateful to the people, government and President Hermine of Seychelles for honoring me with the ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ honour.
He said, I humbly accept this honor and dedicate it to all those countries who are facing the challenge of climate change and consider environmental protection as their responsibility towards the coming generations. This is a serious challenge, which we have to face together.
The Prime Minister said that India is ready to make every possible contribution to make the earth more green and sustainable. He said, this is evident from our various domestic policies, special emphasis on mission life and our active role in global initiatives like International Solar Alliance, Disaster Resilient Infrastructure Coalition.
Prime Minister Modi reached the island nation of Seychelles on Saturday on a three-day visit. During this time he will attend the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the National Day of Seychelles as the chief guest. At a ceremony held at the Seychelles Coast Guard Base, Prime Minister Modi also handed over a ‘Made in India’ fast patrol vessel to the country’s Coast Guard. Through this, India reiterated its commitment to strengthen the maritime security capabilities of Seychelles. In the same month, Prime Minister Modi was also honored with the country’s highest civilian honor ‘The Order of the White Double Cross (First Class)’ in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.
