Grand welcome for the Indian team in Belfast, City Hall illuminated with tricolor!
The second and last T20 match of the series is to be played between India and Ireland in Belfast on Sunday. Ireland leads the series 1-0 after winning the first match played on Friday. Before the second T20, the Consulate General of India in Belfast hosted a special reception for Team India in the capital of Northern Ireland.
Indian Consulate General Kiran Khatri welcomed Team India. To welcome Team India, Belfast City Hall was illuminated with the Indian tricolor. “Sports is one of the best bridges between our people. All the best to the Indian team,” Khatri wrote on Twitter.
BCCI has also shared glimpses of the event on its official X handle. The board wrote in the caption, “An evening full of warmth, camaraderie and the Indian spirit in Belfast. The Indian team was welcomed to a special reception hosted by Kiran Khatri, Consulate General of India in Belfast. With members of the Indian community and special guests, the occasion showcased cricket’s enduring appeal in bringing people closer.”
Sunday’s match is very important for the Indian team. Team India would like to win this match and level the series. Indian cricket fans are also keeping an eye on the debut of 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. It remains to be seen whether he gets the debut cap or not. There is a possibility of 2 changes in the playing eleven of the Indian team for the second T20.
Prince Yadav may get a chance to debut in place of fast bowler Prasidh Krishna. Also, Ravi Bishnoi can be given a chance in place of Washington Sundar. Apart from this, there is no possibility of any change. After losing the first match, Team India will try to register a big win in the second match.
