Rain Alert – IMD Warns of Very Heavy Rains in 15 States for Next 5 Days, Check List

Weather Update 29 June: The Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a bulletin on June 28, stating that an alert has been issued in view of heavy rains in Northeast India and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim over the next 5 days. Additionally, between June 28 and 29, some areas of sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim may receive heavy rainfall on June 28. According to the IMD, an alert has been issued for rain in seven states – Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland, Manipur and Assam – for the next five days.

The alert has been issued in view of excessive rainfall at some places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal during June 28-29. Meanwhile, an alert has been issued for a heatwave or severe heatwave in Uttar Pradesh and its surrounding areas during the next two days.

Rain warning in northwest India

– According to IMD, isolated rains are likely in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Uttarakhand during June 29. An alert has also been issued in Himachal Pradesh in view of the rains on June 30.

– An alert has been issued for isolated rains in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Punjab during June 29-July. An alert has been issued in view of the rains in western Uttar Pradesh during June 29-July 3.

– Rain is expected in eastern Uttar Pradesh, eastern Rajasthan, and western Rajasthan for the next 5 days.

Alert for rain in northeast India

– An alert has been issued in view of very heavy rains in northeast India for the next five days. Heavy rains will occur in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from June 28 to July 2.

– The Met Department has issued an alert in view of rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during June 28 to July 1.

– Extremely heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh from June 28 and June 30 to July 2.

As for western India, Konkan, Goa, and Central Maharashtra during June 28 to July 4; Central Maharashtra during July 3 to 4; Marathwada on June 28; and Gujarat on July 4 are likely to receive heavy rains. A rain warning has been issued in central Maharashtra from June 29 to July 2. Rainfall will occur in Marathwada from June 29 to July 4, Gujarat from June 29 to July 3, Saurashtra from June 28 to July 4 and Kutch.

East India Weather Forecast

– During June 28 to July 3, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and some areas in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to receive rainfall; An alert has been issued for rainfall in West Bengal and Odisha from June 28 to July 3. An alert has been issued for rain in Jharkhand from June 29 to July 3 and in Bihar from June 29 to July 1.

The Met department has predicted rainfall in West Bengal and Odisha on June 27, in Bihar on June 28, and isolated rainfall during July 2-3.
