When will there be relief from the humid heat in Delhi, rain alert in these states
Due to lack of rain in North India, there is severe heat. Delhi recorded its hottest morning in the last two years amid late arrival of monsoon. Whereas the India Meteorological Department (IMD) says that in the coming five days the monsoon will move towards the states of North India, because the conditions are favourable. Heavy rains are occurring in Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and North Bengal. Three people lost their lives in flash flood in Keyi Panyor, Arunachal Pradesh.
The minimum temperature recorded in Delhi on Sunday was 31.1 degrees Celsius. This was 3.2 degrees above the seasonal average. The maximum temperature was recorded at 41.8 degrees Celsius.

There is a possibility of heat wave in UP in the next 24 hours. A warning of lightning has been issued in eastern Uttar Pradesh due to thunderstorm. On Monday, the temperature was recorded at 43.4 degrees Celsius in Prayagraj and 39.7 degrees Celsius in Lucknow. It was 3.6 degrees more than normal. On the other hand, yellow alert of storm has been issued in the hilly districts of Uttarakhand.
When will monsoon reach Delhi?
The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave warning in UP on June 29. According to Skymet estimates, monsoon is likely to arrive in Delhi by July 4. According to IMD, Southwest Monsoon is likely to advance into some parts of the North Arabian Sea and other states including Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the next two to three days. It is expected to reach Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and some areas of south-eastern Rajasthan in the next two to three days.
According to the Meteorological Department, heat wave conditions persist in Delhi. The ‘felt temperature’ at 5.30 pm was around 50.7 degrees Celsius. The department has predicted thunderstorm and rain on Monday.
Flood devastation in Arunachal
There is a flood like situation due to heavy rains in different parts of Arunachal Pradesh. Infrastructure has been damaged. The houses are submerged in water. On Monday also, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of 200 mm of rain in some parts of the state in the next 24 hours. 10 districts of the state are affected by heavy rains and floods. On the other hand, a bridge was washed away due to heavy rains in Jongu, Sikkim. An alert of heavy rain has also been issued in some areas of North Bengal on Monday.

New western disturbance is becoming active
The Meteorological Department predicted rain in Shimla on July 4. Apart from this, there has also been a warning of wind blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 km. Shimla-based weather center says that a new western disturbance may affect north-west India from July 2. The maximum temperature in Chandigarh was recorded at 41 degrees Celsius. It was more than 4 degrees above normal.
Punjab and Haryana in the grip of extreme heat
Punjab and Haryana are in the grip of extreme heat. The temperature was recorded at 45.7 degrees Celsius in Faridkot, Punjab and 45 degrees Celsius in Bhiwani, Haryana. Scattered rain is expected on June 29, July 1 and 2. Despite sporadic rains, humid heat persists in some districts of Rajasthan.
