Industrial hub to be built in Kaimur with Rs 230 crores, employment will increase

The new industrial hub will be developed on 781.18 acres of land along the Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Expressway in Kaimur district of Bihar. The Rs 230.65 crore project is expected to generate new opportunities for investment, industry and employment.

Bhabua: To give impetus to industrial development in Kaimur district, the state government has put forward the plan of a large industrial hub. This industrial area, to be developed near the Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Expressway, will lay the foundation for large-scale industries for the first time in the district and will give a new direction to the local economy.

New industrial area will develop along the expressway

The new industrial hub will be developed on about 781.18 acres of land in Chand and Chainpur areas of Kaimur district. Approximately Rs 230.65 crore will be spent on this ambitious project. The government aims to make the region a major hub for industrial investment by taking advantage of better road connectivity.

Due to direct connection with Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Expressway, this industrial area is considered very important from the point of view of transportation and logistics. This will facilitate industries in the supply of raw materials and transportation of finished products, which is likely to reduce both production cost and time.

Government industrial area will be available for the first time

According to Hemlata Kumari, General Manager of District Industries Centre, till now no government industrial area was available in Kaimur. The construction of a new industrial hub will overcome this deficiency and the district will get a new identity on the industrial map of the state.

He said that due to better infrastructure, it will be easier for small, medium and large industries to invest here. The state government is also providing necessary facilities and incentives under various schemes to promote industries, which will help in attracting new investors.

Employment and local economy will get a boost

After the development of the proposed industrial hub, various types of industries are likely to be established in Kaimur. Apart from agro-based industries, this area is also considered suitable for food processing, warehousing, logistics and other manufacturing units.

The project is expected to generate large-scale employment opportunities for the local youth. This will increase investment in the district, give impetus to business activities and give a new direction to economic development. Besides, due to increase in local employment opportunities, migration to other cities is also expected to reduce.

Experts believe that this industrial hub connected to the expressway can play an important role in future in including Kaimur among the emerging industrial centers of Eastern India. This will not only strengthen the industrial structure of the district, but the surrounding areas are also likely to benefit economically.
