Infighting In Mamata’s TMC: Mamata Banerjee’s TMC faction made these allegations against many rebel MLAs including Ritabrata, demanded action from the police

Kolkata. After TMC’s crushing defeat in the West Bengal Assembly elections, MLAs and MPs of Mamata Banerjee’s party rebelled and formed a separate faction. After this, there was a war of statements between TMC rebels and Mamata and her close ones. Now Mamata Banerjee’s TMC faction has accused the group of rebel MLAs of misusing the symbol and name of TMC.

Ritabrata Banerjee and Sandipan Saha were the first to rebel against Mamata Banerjee.

On behalf of Mamata Banerjee’s TMC faction, a complaint was lodged at the New Town police station of Bidhannagar against the leaders of rebel MLAs Ritabrata Banerjee, Sandipan Saha, Javed Khan, Biplab Mitra and others. The complaint states that Ritabrata Banerjee fraudulently created the letterhead of the party by misusing the symbol and name of TMC. Using this letterhead, Ritabrata sent a letter to the West Bengal Assembly Speaker on June 22, 2026, calling himself the General Secretary of TMC. Mamta’s group has said in the complaint that on this information the police should immediately take legal action under Section 173 of the Indian Penal Code.

Let us tell you that Ritabrata and Sandipan had earlier complained to the West Bengal Assembly Speaker that the proposal letter presented by Mamata’s MP nephew Abhishek Banerjee to make Shobhandev Chatterjee the Leader of Opposition had fake signatures of 14 MLAs. After this, Mamata Banerjee expelled Ritabrata and Sandipan from TMC. On this, Ritabrata Banerjee and Sandipan Saha gathered 58 TMC MLAs and rebelled against Mamata. West Bengal Assembly Speaker made Ritabrata the leader of opposition. Recently, Ritabrata had claimed that 64 out of 80 TMC MLAs are with him. Now Mamata Banerjee has complained against the rebel group including Ritabrata for committing fraud. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see what action the police takes.
