Asia Cup Taekwondo: Ashutosh of Shravasti won gold in Taekwondo Championship, defeated Sri Lankan player

Lucknow. Promising Taekwondo player Ashutosh Tripathi ‘Satyam’ from Shravasti district of Uttar Pradesh has made the country and the state proud by winning the gold medal in the 9th Asia Cup Taekwondo Championship by performing brilliantly at the international level. Representing India in this prestigious competition held in Goa, he won the title of Senior Men’s Under-68 kg weight category.

In the final match of this championship held at Peddem Sports Complex, Mapusa, Goa from 26 to 28 June, Ashutosh won the gold medal by defeating Sri Lankan player Zaid Mohammed in a tough fight. Throughout the tournament, Ashutosh displayed excellent technique, fast pace and precise strategy. He achieved the distinction of becoming champion by confidently winning all the matches from the semi-finals to the finals.
