1. Dharmendra Pradhan (Education Minister)

Who are: Dharmendra Pradhan, who comes from the background of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and ABVP, has been a Rajya Sabha MP twice. Presently he is the Lok Sabha MP from Sambalpur, Odisha and has been an important part of the Modi government for the last 12 years. He is taking over as the Education Minister of the country from July 2021.

2. Hardeep Singh Puri (Petroleum Minister)

Who are: Retired IFS officer of 1974 batch Hardeep Singh Puri joined BJP in 2014. He became a Rajya Sabha MP twice and has been a Union Minister since September 2017. At present he has the responsibility of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
Why can you remove: Controversy has arisen due to his name being included in the international sex scandal ‘Epstein Files’. In February this year, the opposition had claimed that between 2014 and 2017, Puri had exchanged 62 emails with Jeffrey Epstein and held 14 meetings. Apart from this, the age of Puri, who is 74 years old, is also being considered a major reason for his removal, who has been holding the post of minister for the last 9 years.

3. Ravneet Singh Bittu (Minister of State for Railways)

Who are: Ravneet Singh Bittu, grandson of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, was elected Lok Sabha MP thrice on Congress ticket. In March 2024, he joined BJP and was made Minister of State at the Centre. After this, in August 2024, he reached Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan quota.
Why can you remove: Bittu had recently expressed his desire to be fully active in the Punjab Assembly elections to be held next year on June 3. He had said, “I have completed 17 years in Delhi and now I am ready to pack my bags and go to Punjab.” After this, his name was not in the list of BJP’s Rajya Sabha candidates released on June 4 and his Rajya Sabha tenure has also ended on June 21, 2026. The party wants to field him at the grassroots level against Akali Dal and AAP in Punjab.

4. Pankaj Chaudhary (Minister of State for Finance)

Who are: Pankaj Chaudhary, a record 7-time Lok Sabha MP from Maharajganj seat of Uttar Pradesh, is holding the post of Union Minister of State for Finance from July 2021. In December 2025, the party appointed him as the new state president of Uttar Pradesh BJP.
Why can you remove: Choudhary may be relieved from the cabinet under BJP’s strictly enforced internal policy of ‘one person, one post’. He has been handling the dual responsibility of both the government and the organization for the last 7 months. Now in view of the 2027 UP Assembly elections and 2029 Lok Sabha elections, his entire focus will be on organization and election management.

5. Harsh Malhotra (Minister of State for Cooperation)

Who are: Harsh Malhotra, who was the Mayor of East Delhi Municipal Corporation in the year 2015-16, became MP from East Delhi seat for the first time in 2024 and got the place of Minister of State in the Modi cabinet. After this, in May 2026, he was made the new president of Delhi BJP.
Why can you remove: Under BJP’s ‘one person, one post’ policy, 62-year-old Harsh Malhotra can also be relieved from the post of minister to devote full time to the organization, because assembly elections are to be held in Delhi next year.

6. George Kurien (Minister of State for Minority Affairs)

Who are: George Kurien, a well-known Supreme Court lawyer, became Minister of State in the Modi government in June 2024. He had the responsibility of Minority Affairs and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying. He reached Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh in August 2024.
Why resigned: George Kurien, the only Christian face of the Modi cabinet, resigned from his post on June 23. A major reason for this is believed to be BJP not getting results as per expectations in Kerala Assembly elections. 65-year-old Kurien himself had contested the election from ‘Kanjirappalli’ seat, but he had lagged behind at the third position there.

Who are: Shaktikanta Das, a 1980 batch retired IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, is currently serving as Principal Secretary-2 to PM Modi. He has been the country’s Economic Affairs Secretary, Revenue Secretary, member of the 15th Finance Commission, G20 Sherpa and Governor of RBI from 2018 to 2024.
Why will you get a place: Das played a very important role in the biggest economic decisions of the Modi government like demonetization and implementation of GST in the country. His tenure as RBI Governor being extended three times shows the unwavering confidence of the government in him. He kept the Indian economy stable during the Corona period and global recession, promoted digital payments (UPI) and strengthened banking regulations. The government hopes that his administrative and economic understanding will further strengthen the financial position of the country.

2. Anurag Thakur

Who are: Anurag Thakur, son of former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, has been the President of BCCI and has been elected MP from Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat for the fifth consecutive time.
Why will you get a place: During the second term of the Modi government, his report card as cabinet minister and information and broadcasting minister was excellent. Assembly elections are to be held in Himachal Pradesh next year, in such a situation BJP wants to mobilize young voters on the strength of Anurag Thakur’s face and return to power by ousting the current Congress government in the state.

3. VD Sharma

Who are: VD Sharma, a big face of Madhya Pradesh politics, is considered an old and tough volunteer. He has done ground work in RSS and ABVP for three decades. In 2013, he became active in the mainstream politics of BJP and was the successful state president of Madhya Pradesh BJP from 2020 to 2025. Presently he is MP from Khajuraho seat for the second consecutive time.

Chugh has got this Rajya Sabha seat in place of Ravneet Singh Bittu and now the equations of Punjab will be settled by including him in the cabinet. 5. Raghav Chaddha

Who are: Raghav Chadha, a Chartered Accountant (CA) by profession and a politician, was Arvind Kejriwal’s closest strategist for a long time. He became MLA from Rajendra Nagar, Delhi and Vice Chairman of Delhi Jal Board in 2020 and then reached Rajya Sabha from Punjab in 2022.
Why will you get a place: In April this year, Raghav Chadha along with 6 other Rajya Sabha MPs of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) suddenly left Aam Aadmi Party and joined BJP.
