US-Iran Meeting: America and Iran will meet in Doha, Trump announced, there will be talks on $6 billion fund

US President Donald Trump has announced that a major meeting will be held in Doha on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 for talks between the US and Iran. This meeting will be held in the capital of Qatar in which senior officials of both the countries will participate. The main objective of this meeting is to reduce the ongoing tension between the two countries and to talk about mutual agreements.

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said that President Trump’s special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will participate in this high-level meeting. It has been told that along with this main discussion, some technical talks can also take place.

Main agenda of the meeting

According to the US administration, this meeting was demanded by Iran. In the meeting, mainly those things will be discussed which were decided in a Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries in the beginning of June. According to Reuters report, in this discussion the focus will be on making the movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz safe and reducing tension.

Iran’s separate claim

While on one hand America has announced the meeting, on the other hand there is a difference in the views of Iranian officials. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi has denied any technical talks or new meetings this week. However, he admitted that consultations with Qatar were continuing.

Stress and frozen money

All this commotion is happening at a time when there were mutual attacks between the two countries in the Persian Gulf last week. The peace agreement reached earlier had weakened considerably, to save which both sides had agreed to give way to merchant ships.

On the other hand, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Monday that Iran’s frozen money worth $6 billion deposited in Qatar will now be released. He has called it a big victory for the Iranian people. This money is being returned under the agreement made with America.
