OnePlus is preparing to make a big splash in the smartphone market. The company is preparing to launch its two flagship handsets – OnePlus 16R and OnePlus Nord 7 soon. Reports are claiming that the brand can give a major upgrade to the display technology in its upcoming smartphones. According to the latest leak, the company is now preparing to provide 185Hz refresh rate display not only in flagship models but also in mid-range smartphones.

Will OnePlus 16R and Nord 7 have 185Hz display?
Chinese tipster Smart Pikachu has claimed on Weibo that OnePlus is planning to bring its new display technology to more smartphones. According to the report, the company can use 185Hz panel instead of the existing 165Hz display.

If this claim proves to be true, then OnePlus 16R and OnePlus Nord 7 will offer a smoother display experience than their older models OnePlus 15R and Nord 6.

New display can be found in these models also
According to the report, 185Hz display can also be seen in the successor models of OnePlus 15, OnePlus 15R, OnePlus 15T, Nord 6, Ace 6, Ace 6T and Ace 6 Ultra to be launched in the future. However, the Ace series and OnePlus 15T can be made available only in China, while the rest of the models will be launched in the global market.

When can it be launched?
OnePlus 15R was launched in December 2025, so OnePlus 16R is expected to arrive by the end of 2026. Whereas OnePlus Nord 6 was launched in April 2026, hence the entry of Nord 7 can be in early 2027.

New Snapdragon processor can be found in OnePlus 16
According to earlier reports, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor can be given in OnePlus 16. Apart from this, the phone is also likely to have a 6.78-inch display from BOE and less than 1mm bezels all around.
