On this day devotees will start their journey to have darshan of Baba Barfani. Legend of Amarnath Cave
According to mythological beliefs, Maharishi Bhrigu was the first to visit Amarnath cave. It is said that when the Kashmir valley was submerged, Maharishi Kashyap took out the water through rivers and drains. During that time, sage Bhrigu had come through the same route on his journey to the Himalayas and was in search of a secluded abode for penance. Then he saw the holy cave of Baba Amarnath. It is said that Amarnath Yatra started after this.
All troubles go away just by seeing Baba Barfani.
The journey to Amarnath is difficult but just by seeing Baba Barfani, all the troubles of the devotees go away. By seeing Baba Barfani, one gets thousand times virtuous results. Shivalinga in Amarnath is formed from water drops dripping from the roof of the cave. There is a religious belief that this Shivalinga increases and decreases with the cycle of moonlight. It is called ‘Baba Barfani’ because of the Shivalinga made of ice.
Important things related to Amarnath Yatra
To go on Amarnath Yatra, the age should be between 13 years to 70 years. Only people of this age limit can register.
During the journey, keep Yatra Registration Slip, Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC), Aadhar Card or other valid photo identity card with you.
Carry a torch, extra battery or power bank, mobile charger, sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm, dry fruits, energy bar, glucose and water bottle with you during Amarnath Yatra.
Oxygen levels are low at altitude, so do not climb in a hurry. If you experience difficulty breathing, dizziness or chest pain, seek medical help immediately.
Do not take very heavy luggage, expensive jewellery, excessive cash and alcohol, tobacco and intoxicants in your journey.
