Weather changed in Delhi NCR by evening, IMD’s orange alert; Warning of storm and strong winds
Delhi NCR Weather: The humidity and scorching heat were troubling the people of Delhi and NCR for the last several days. On Saturday evening the weather suddenly changed in such a way that people’s faces lit up. In the afternoon, dark dense clouds suddenly appeared in the sky and within no time the entire capital was engulfed in darkness. After this, a strong dust storm and thundershowers completely changed the weather. The scorching sun has been replaced by cold winds, due to which a huge drop in temperature has been recorded. The changing weather on the weekend evening gave Delhiites an opportunity to come out of their homes and enjoy this pleasant weather.
Meteorological Department issued orange alert
As soon as the movement in the sky increased, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) immediately released a new estimate. The Meteorological Department issued a district-wise warning at 4:10 pm and announced Orange Alert. In this warning it was clearly stated that there would be a moderate storm in Delhi and surrounding areas. Along with this, there was talk of lightning and strong winds blowing at a speed of 41 to 61 kilometers per hour. This alert remained completely effective for many parts of Delhi till 7:10 in the evening. Due to this sudden change in the weather, there were reports of trees falling and traffic slowing down at many places.

What is Orange Alert?
Whenever the Meteorological Department sees the possibility of bad weather, it issues alerts of different colors. Orange Alert is considered to be the second biggest weather alert of IMD. This alert is issued when the weather is expected to be so bad that it can disrupt normal life and daily activities. This alert simply means that people and administrative officials should be fully prepared for the upcoming bad weather. Under this, situations like heavy rain, storm, lightning and water logging can occur. At such times, people are advised not to leave their homes without any essential work so that any kind of loss can be avoided.
How will the weather be in the coming days?
The Meteorological Department has issued a big forecast not only for Delhi but also for its surrounding states. According to IMD, intermittent rain will be seen at some places in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Punjab between June 27 and July 2. At the same time, similar weather is expected in Western Uttar Pradesh from June 29 to July 3 and in Eastern Uttar Pradesh between June 27 to 30.
