On the occasion of International Parliament Day, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma extended warm wishes to the people of the state and called for strengthening democratic values. He said that Parliament is the main pillar of democracy, which, along with representing people’s aspirations, is also the cornerstone of policy-making and good governance.
The Chief Minister said in his message that Parliament, as a vigilant sentinel of democracy, strengthens the democratic system of the country and is the center of important decisions related to public interest.
Call to strengthen democratic values
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said,
“Heartiest congratulations on International Parliament Day, underscoring the importance of Parliament as the vigilant sentinel of democracy, the center of public aspirations and the main pillar of policy-making.”
Appealing to the people of the state, he said that on this occasion all citizens should reiterate their commitment towards strengthening democratic values, promoting transparency in governance and public welfare.
Strong parliamentary traditions are the hallmark of a strong democracy
The Chief Minister said that strong parliamentary traditions are the hallmark of any strong democracy. Through Parliament, the voice of the people is effectively conveyed to the government and the strengthening of democratic institutions is ensured.
He said that the Rajasthan government is also fully committed to a transparent, accountable and public welfare governance system and is working in accordance with democratic ideals.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that only through respect for democratic institutions, transparency and public participation, the spirit of good governance will be strengthened and it will be possible to extend the benefits of development to the last person of the society.
On the occasion of International Parliament Day, he called upon all citizens to maintain the dignity of democracy and take active participation in nation building.
