Netherlands player Cody Gakpo receives support after son’s death amid World Cup goal
Dutch footballer Cody Gakpo received support from across the world after scoring a goal in the knockout match against Morocco.
Despite Netherlands losing the match and being knocked out, Cody was sent messages of support and love after losing his unborn son last week.
The footballer’s partner Noa Van der Bij announced her pregnancy loss on Saturday, two days before the big game.

Cody showed up for the match and ended up scoring a goal sending the crowd in a wave of joy who celebrated his goal in the tough time.
In the 72nd minute, the player scored the first goal of the match for his side and celebrated the score by looking up at the sky and pointing upward.
An announcer said “You can feel the heavy weight of emotion that is running through Cody Gakpo right now, all of his teammates coming together for a man that has been through so much in the last 48 hours, but has put his country ahead.”
His teammates rushed towards him to support him and formed a circle around him.
