Cricketer Shashank Singh called the allegations baseless. Giving his reaction on this entire matter and the FIR, Cricketer Shashank Singh has completely rejected the allegations like assault and hostage taking. Shashank Singh, giving his version, said: “No, we did not hold him hostage… It is true that he had come calling himself a cook, but he was not a cook at all. He did not know how to cook; he just came to have fun, take videos and photos and also to enter my room… Since he was doing such things, I suspect that he had come with the intention of stealing.”
Claim to create and delete private videos
Shashank Singh further said that the person was disturbing the privacy of the house. He said, “We’ve been very lucky that nothing has been stolen so far in the investigation… It’s true that there were videos and photos of the house on his phone, so my mom made him delete them because they were too personal.” The cricketer also clarified that till now the police has not contacted him in this matter.
Didn’t call the police on his requests
‘My sister had asked me to call 100’ Describing the incident, Shashank said that when he caught the staff member taking photos and videos without permission, his sister had suggested him to immediately call the police on 100 number. But the man pleaded, after which they let him go.
Shashank said emotionally, “It is possible that someone would make such an allegation against me… I believe that anyone who knows me knows that it is impossible for me to even think of assault. I hesitate even to use abusive language, so I certainly could not do something like this. I don’t think I need to give any explanation about this.” At present the police is investigating the matter.

Shashank Singh is the star all-rounder of Punjab Kings.
Shashank Singh was first selected for SRH in IPL in 2022. 35-year-old Shashank Singh started his IPL career for the first time in the year 2022 by playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). After this, a very strange situation arose during the mega auction of 2024. Punjab Kings owner Preity Zinta wanted to place a bet on another player (another player named Shashank Singh), but due to confusion in the name, she placed the bid on him by mistake.
The mistake which became a ‘boon’ for Punjab Kings
This mistake on the auction table later proved to be no less than a big boon and a pleasant feeling for the Punjab Kings. Shashank removed all the doubts of the management with his batting. For the last three seasons, he has been the player scoring runs with the best strike rate for the team. Due to his ability to finish matches in difficult situations, he has proved himself to be an excellent match winner.
