Trump’s statement increases diplomatic stir, Iran refuses to hold any meeting in Doha

Tehran/Washington. Fresh confusion has arisen regarding possible talks between America and Iran. Iran has completely rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim regarding the meeting of delegations of the two countries in Doha. Iran’s Foreign Ministry clarified that no talks or meetings are scheduled at any level with the US in Qatar’s capital Doha.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai said the Iranian delegation’s visit to Qatar is for a completely separate purpose and has no connection with any possible meeting with US officials. He also said that before talks can begin on a comprehensive agreement, several conditions related to the 14-point consensus need to be fulfilled. These also include restoring access to Iran’s frozen assets.

On the other hand, the White House has claimed that US Ambassador Steve Witkoff and President Trump’s senior advisor Jared Kushner will reach Doha and talk to Iranian representatives. According to the White House, this initiative is being taken at the request of Iran and its aim is to reduce tension in West Asia.

Meanwhile, relief news has emerged regarding the Strait of Hormuz. According to the latest maritime traffic data, the movement of ships in the area remained normal in the last 24 hours. During this time, several oil tankers and cargo ships passed through the strait safely, reducing some of the immediate concerns about global energy supplies.

However, the conflicting statements of America and Iran have again made the diplomatic situation of the Middle East uncertain. Now the eyes of the international community are fixed on whether any new initiative for dialogue takes place between the two countries in the coming days or whether the tension increases further.
