Opener Innocent Kaiya, who returned to the team after three years and scored his first century, scored 140 runs. By the end of the second day’s play, Bangladesh had scored 40 runs after losing one wicket in the second innings.

Tuesday, June 30, was the third day of the match, and Bangladesh had a big challenge to overcome Zimbabwe’s lead. This challenge ultimately proved impossible, as Zimbabwe’s four fast bowlers combined to defeat Bangladesh. Fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani took the most wickets for the team, in which captain Ngarawa took three, Newman Niyamahuri took two and Brad Evans took one wicket. For Bangladesh, captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto scored 30 and Mushfiqur Rahim scored 34 runs.

This victory is very special for Zimbabwe because the team entered the match without its star all-rounder Sikandar Raza. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh team had looked very strong recently, having whitewashed Pakistan 2-0 in the Test series at home. However, this victory is also special because it is the biggest victory in Zimbabwe’s 34-year Test history.
