Welcome to the Jungle Box Office: Strong earnings continue after weekend; 8 crore on the first Monday

Akshay Kumar’s ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ has continued its strong run at the box office. The film has shown an excellent hold on its first Monday earning a nett of approximately Rs 8 crore. The film’s collection has reached Rs 71 crore in four days, and trade analysts have expressed the possibility that this figure will go up to Rs 94 to 95 crore by the end of the first week.

According to trade reports, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ earned around 25 to 30 percent more than ‘Bhooth Bangla’ on its first Monday. In the weekend, the difference was around 13 percent. Therefore, it was seen that the film performed well on Monday and maintained the positive trend. It is believed to have benefited to some extent from the ongoing summer vacations in some North Indian states.

The film’s performance was strongest in Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. These states saw a 35 to 40 percent decline in earnings compared to Friday, while nationwide the decline was around 48 percent. In Maharashtra, however, a 55 percent decline was recorded in the film’s earnings. It is believed that the benefit of the holiday received on Friday was relatively more in Maharashtra, and the result was seen on Monday.

According to trade experts, next week’s release of ‘Alpha’ will not be much of a hindrance for ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. However, the comedy film ‘Dhamaal 4’, which will release in the third week, will attract the same audience, so there may be real competition at that time. Therefore, the performance in the third week will have a significant impact on the ultimate success of the film.

If we look at the day-wise earnings of the film, it has collected Rs 3.75 crore from the preview show, Rs 15.25 crore on Friday, Rs 20 crore on Saturday, Rs 24 crore on Sunday and Rs 8 crore on Monday. Thus in four days the film has collected a total of Rs 71 crore nett.
