New update on 8th Pay Commission, great news for employees
New Delhi. An important information has come to light regarding the 8th Pay Commission for central employees. The Commission has intensified work towards possible changes in salaries and allowances. For this, complete details of the salaries, allowances and expenses related to the employees have been sought from all the ministries and departments of the government.
Departments will have to provide complete data online
The 8th Pay Commission has directed all government departments to upload financial information related to employees on the online portal of the Commission. Only digital medium will be recognized for sending information. Departments will not be allowed to send information through files, printed documents, excel sheets or email. The Commission wants to create a centralized digital record, so that the data can be analyzed easily.
Information will have to be given by 30 June 2026
The Commission has fixed the last date for submission of data as 30 June 2026. This will include information on a large number of government offices and institutions. In such a situation, if any department faces difficulty in providing data on time, then extending the time limit can also be considered.
What information was sought?
The Commission has not only sought details of basic salary, but has also sought information about all the major allowances received by the employees. This includes details of basic pay, dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA), transport allowance, risk and difficult area allowance and other facilities. Apart from this, information about the expenditure incurred at different levels of the pay matrix is also being collected.
Study of expenditure of last three years
The Commission has asked for data for financial years 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25. Through these data, it will be seen how much the government is spending on different salary levels. This will help the Commission to estimate future pay revisions, changes in allowances and the economic impact on the government.
Employees’ expectations increased
After the start of the process of 8th Pay Commission, the eyes of central employees and pensioners are now fixed on the recommendations of the commission. Expectations have increased among employees regarding possible changes in salary, allowances and other facilities. However, the final decision will be clear only after the recommendations of the commission and the approval of the government.
