Gorakhpur: Daughter-in-law arrested for attacking mother-in-law with knife in mobile dispute

gorakhpur. On Tuesday, the police arrested the accused daughter-in-law for attacking her mother-in-law with a knife following a family dispute in Malamalia village of AIIMS police station area. Police have also recovered the knife used in the incident from his possession. Advance legal action is being taken by registering a case of attempt to murder against the accused.
According to police, a dispute within a family in Malamalia village turned violent on the intervening night of June 29 and 30. It is alleged that Bandana’s wife Jaihind attacked her mother-in-law with a knife with the intention of killing her. The woman injured in the attack was sent to the hospital for immediate treatment. After the incident, on the complaint of the victim’s husband, a case was registered at AIIMS police station under crime number 174/2026, section 109 (1) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).
As soon as information about the incident was received, the police started investigation. The team formed under the guidance of the City Superintendent of Police, supervision of the Area Officer Cantt and the leadership of Inspector-in-charge AIIMS, arrested the accused woman on Tuesday. During interrogation, the knife used in the incident was also recovered at his instance.
Police officials said that the accused Bandana, wife Jaihind, resident of village Malmalia police station AIIMS, are being presented in the court as per rules. The investigation of the case is ongoing and the police are investigating all aspects of the incident.
The arrest operation was led by sub-inspector Gaurav Tiwari. The team included sub-inspector Rajkumar, female sub-inspector Sonali God and female constable Priya Pathak. Police say that as part of the campaign being run against criminals in the district, prompt action is being taken in such cases, so that along with maintaining law and order, timely justice can be provided to the victims. Other facts related to the case are also being investigated and further legal action will be taken based on the investigation.
