Abhishek Sharma’s amazing feat created a world record by hitting the fastest 100 T20 International sixes.
New Delhi . Indian team’s explosive opening batsman Abhishek Sharma batted stormily in the first T20 match against England which not only changed the course of the match but also got him a special place in the record books of world cricket. In the match played at Chester-le-Street, Abhishek played an explosive inning of 59 runs in just 24 balls and during this time he made the world record of completing 100 sixes in the fewest number of balls in T20 international cricket.
Abhishek hit six fours and four brilliant sixes during his innings. He put pressure on England’s bowlers from the very beginning by completing his half-century in just 20 balls. Thanks to his aggressive batting, India got a fast start and the opposition team was completely on the backfoot. Although his innings ended by getting out LBW by Sam Curran, by then he had already created history with his batting.
During this innings, Abhishek Sharma completed his 100 sixes in T20 international cricket. The most important thing was that he faced only 785 balls to reach this feat, which is the fastest record made by a batsman from any full member country. Earlier this record was in the name of West Indies explosive batsman Evin Lewis who had completed 100 sixes in 789 balls. Now Abhishek has left him behind and secured the first position in this list.
Abhishek Sharma now tops the list of batsmen who have hit 100 T20 International sixes in the fewest balls. After him, Evin Lewis is in second place while Finn Allen of New Zealand, Tim David of Australia, Colin Munro of New Zealand and Suryakumar Yadav of India are in the next places respectively. This record is proof that Abhishek is fast making his mark among the most aggressive batsmen of modern T20 cricket.
With this achievement, Abhishek Sharma has also become only the fifth batsman from India to hit 100 or more sixes in T20 International cricket. Before him, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli have achieved this feat. Achieving this milestone in so few balls is being considered as the biggest example of his aggressive thinking and fearless batting.
Abhishek Sharma has been in great form for some time now and is scoring runs at a fast pace against every big team. The biggest feature of his batting is that he believes in playing big shots from the beginning and never gives the opposition bowlers a chance to settle into their rhythm. This is the reason why in a very short time he has made his own identity in world cricket.
If Abhishek Sharma’s aggressive style continues, he can become one of India’s most successful T20 batsmen in the coming years. Many cricket experts believe that in future he has the ability to challenge Rohit Sharma’s record of most T20 International sixes. For now, his innings against England will always be remembered as a new hope for Indian cricket and a new record for world cricket.
