People of Dinkar Nagar deprived of tap water scheme get angry, strong demonstration against the city council
Masauri: On Monday, the local people strongly protested against the Municipal Council regarding the serious problem of drinking water in Dinkar Nagar locality of Masauri Municipal Council area. The protesters alleged that the benefit of tap water scheme has not reached the locality for years, while the Municipal Council is regularly collecting house tax and water tax.
Local people said that a large number of Dalit, Mahadalit and extremely backward class families live in Dinkar Nagar, but till date they have not been provided the facility of pure drinking water. People said that the motor installed in the locality has also broken down, due to which the water problem has become more serious. Amidst the scorching heat and humidity, people are forced to fetch water from far away places.
The protesters accused the city council of neglecting the development works and said that tall claims of development are made on paper, but the ground reality is completely different. He said that the Municipal Council is active in tax collection, while it is proving to be a complete failure in providing basic facilities.
Local people warned that if the tap water scheme is not started in Dinkar Nagar soon and proper arrangements for drinking water are not made, then the movement will be intensified. During the demonstration, people raised slogans against the Municipal Council administration and demanded immediate solution to the problem.
