Railway Ticket Booking: Ticket system 5 times faster, now 1.25 lakh tickets booked in 1 minute, travel experience will change with AI
Business Desk – Railway Ticket Booking: Indian Railways is soon going to completely upgrade its Passenger Reservation System (PRS). After the implementation of the new system, Railways will be able to book 1.25 lakh tickets in a minute, which is 5 times more than the current capacity of 25 thousand tickets per minute.
Railways believes that this change will reduce the pressure on the servers during Tatkal ticket booking and passengers will get faster and better service. The information about this major upgrade was given by the Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) on its 41st foundation day.
Now there will be no problem of frequent hanging in ticket booking
At present the railway ticket booking system is able to process only 25 thousand tickets in a minute. As soon as Tatkal tickets are opened, lakhs of people login simultaneously, which causes heavy load on the website and app.
Many times the system becomes slow or starts hanging. After the implementation of the new high-capacity system, this capacity will increase to 1.25 lakh tickets per minute, which is expected to provide a lot of relief to the passengers during ticket booking.
The new system will be able to easily handle the increasing demand
According to CRIS, with a five-fold increase in ticket booking capacity, Indian Railways will be able to better meet the rapidly increasing reservation demand. The new system will have the capacity to handle more traffic without interruption. With this, ticket booking is expected to be much smoother than before even during peak times like festivals, holidays and Tatkal booking.
‘Railvan’ super app got tremendous response
Railway officials said that the ‘RailOne’ super app launched last year has received an excellent response from passengers. Due to easy interface and many services available on one platform, this app has been downloaded more than 4.35 crore times so far. On an average, 10 lakh transactions are being done every day on this platform.
Railways will become more safe with AI, it will detect faults in advance
Indian Railways is now rapidly increasing the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in its operations. With the help of AI, possible faults in trains and railway equipment can be detected in advance. With this, timely repairs will be possible, the risk of accidents will be reduced and the security system of the railways will become stronger than before.
CRIS MD told what is the goal of Railways
CRIS Managing Director GVL Satya Kumar said that the objective of Railways is not only to adopt new technology but also to bring its direct benefits to the common passengers. Be it the new RailOne super app or AI-based technology, all the improvements are aimed at making railway services faster, safer and more convenient.
What will be the benefit to the passengers?
After the implementation of the new reservation system, the problem of slowness or hanging of the website and app at the time of Tatkal ticket booking can be reduced to a great extent. Tickets will be booked faster, server capacity will increase and passengers will get a more reliable and faster online booking experience than before.
