Samsung Galaxy Glasses Leak Reveals Companion App, Gesture Controls, and One UI XR Features Ahead of Launch

According to several leaks, Samsung is expected to unveil its Galaxy Glasses, developed in partnership with Google, Warby Parker, and Gentle Monster, this year in the fall. Samsung smart glasses are yet to launch, but a leaked companion app called the Galaxy Glasses Manager app has already revealed several details about how the device could work. The leak stems from SammyGuru, who managed to get hold of the Galaxy Glasses Manager app, which the user will have to use to pair the glasses and manage their features.

The app appears to handle everything from initial setup to feature management and software updates. Ahead of the reveal, the leaks further suggest that the app will feature several gestures and buttons and LEDs and will be equipped with a charging case. The screenshots from the app also show the smart glasses themselves alongside their charging case. Here is a closer look at Samsung’s upcoming wearable ahead of its debut and the information leaked to date.

Operating System and Core App Settings

Just like the Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watches, Samsung’s smart glasses will rely on a dedicated companion app on smartphones. SammyGuru reported that they had managed to install the app and go through the out-of-box experience (OOBE). According to them, after granting the required permissions, the app walks the users through putting the glasses into pairing mode before connecting them.

The leaks confirm that the Galaxy Glasses are built on an audio-centric foundation powered by One UI XR. This is Samsung’s specialized, custom software skin designed explicitly for Android XR, which is the brand new wearable operating system co-developed through a massive three-way partnership between Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm. It is similar to how the Galaxy XR headset works.

The Galaxy Glasses Manager App

The app’s primary menu features a clean, top-level layout, which is organized into several distinct categories:

  • Camera Configuration
  • AI Assistant Options
  • Read Notifications Aloud
  • Find My Glasses
  • Advanced Settings and Accessibility Features

As reported by SammyGuru, the app’s main screen reveals quite a bit. The user’s paired glasses appear at the top, presumably along with their battery level. There is also an option to automatically import photos and videos captured with the glasses to the user’s phone after granting the necessary permissions.

Below that are menu options for Camera, AI assistants, Read notifications aloud, Advanced features, Accessibility, and Find my glasses. There are likely more settings available, which can be accessed later on with a connected pair of glasses. Going deeper or accessing advanced settings was not possible without an active Galaxy Glass connection, as SammyGuru stated.

How do the Gesture Controls and Buttons work?

As reported by Notebookcheck, a series of short walkthrough videos shows how gesture controls and buttons on the Warby Parker edition Galaxy Glasses work.

  • There is a touchpad on the right temple that allows switching songs with one-finger swipe gestures, adjusting volume with two-finger swipes, and playing, pausing, and answering calls with a tap.
  • There is also a physical camera button on the right temple for taking photos with a single press and taking videos with a press and hold. According to Notebookcheck, the captured photos and videos will show up in the Now Bar on Galaxy phones.
  • Furthermore, there are LED indicators on both the inside and outside of the frame. The charging case reportedly also has an

LED for battery level and pairing status.

Integration with other Galaxy Wearables

Several references discovered inside the Galaxy Glasses Manager app indicate that Galaxy Watches may get a dedicated Galaxy Glasses Controller application, allowing users to interact with the glasses directly from their wrist. Moreover, Code Strings related to the Galaxy Ring were also spotted, which suggests support for gesture-based controls.

Availability and Bottom Line

Samsung is expected to unveil its smart glasses this year in the fall, and they could be part of the Galaxy Unpacked event reportedly scheduled for July 22, 2026, in London. Samsung will be making the ecosystem more seamless with Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Ring integration.

The app would work with both Samsung’s own smart glasses and the ones it’s developing with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. More details regarding the Galaxy Glasses and the app will be officially revealed in the coming weeks.
