UAE Weather Update: Al Kaith season begins, mercury can reach 50 degrees, NCM advises to exercise caution
The scorching summer time i.e. ‘Al Kaith’ season has started in UAE. This is the hottest and driest period of the year due to which the temperature rises significantly across the country. This weather has a greater impact on common people and especially on migrants working outside.

How long will this weather last?
This season has started from 3rd July 2026 and will run till 10th August. Summer is at its peak during this period of total 40 days. According to Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society, this time is the most difficult time of the year.

During this period the temperature often remains above 40 degrees Celsius. In desert and interior areas such as Al Ain and Liwa, temperatures reach 45 to 46 degrees and can even cross 50 degrees during heavy heatwaves. The temperature in coastal areas like Dubai and Abu Dhabi is likely to remain between 41 to 43 degrees. Whereas in the hilly areas the temperature will be between 31 to 37 degrees.
humidity and dusty winds
There is very high humidity in coastal areas due to which the heat felt by the body is much higher than the actual temperature. Apart from this, hot and dry winds called ‘Samoom’ blow which can cause dust storms and reduce visibility.
Meteorological Department warnings and advice
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has said that due to El Niño the temperature may be higher than normal. The government and the meteorological department have issued some important guidelines for the people:
- Drink plenty of water and do not let your body become dehydrated.
- Avoid going out in the strong afternoon sun.
- Wear light and airy clothes.
- Stay away from direct sunlight to avoid heatstroke and fatigue.
