Anmol Bishnoi, younger brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has sought permission to surrender in the special MCOCA court of Mumbai in the firing case outside Salman Khan’s house. Currently, he is lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail in a separate NIA case. He has told the court that he wants to face the legal process by attending the hearing of this case.

This case is related to the firing that took place outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in Bandra, Mumbai on 14 April 2024. Mumbai Police alleges that Bishnoi gang was behind this attack, after which MCOCA was also imposed in the case. In such a situation, the question is now arising that who is Anmol Bishnoi, what are the cases registered against him and why does he want to surrender in this case.

What is the matter?

This case is of April 14, 2024, when two bike-riding attackers opened fire outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in Bandra, Mumbai in the morning. After the incident, both the accused fled from the spot. During the investigation, Mumbai Police also invoked Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) in this case and claimed that Lawrence Bishnoi gang was behind this attack. Now Anmol Bishnoi wants to surrender before the court in this case.

Why is Anmol asking for approval to surrender?

Anmol Bishnoi is currently lodged in Tihar jail in a separate NIA case. He has said in the application filed in the court that he cannot appear personally in the Mumbai court because he is already in jail. Therefore, he has demanded the court to issue a production warrant, so that he can be produced in the court and his surrender can be recorded and the further legal process can be completed. He says that with this he will be able to participate in the trial proceedings and present his side.

Who is Anmol Bishnoi?

Anmol Bishnoi, born on 15 December 2000 in Abohar, Fazilka district of Punjab, is the younger brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. According to the investigating agencies, he has long been considered a key member of the Bishnoi gang, handling its activities abroad. More than two dozen criminal cases are registered against him across the country, which include charges related to extortion, arms smuggling, target killing and organized crime.

From first arrest to fleeing abroad

Anmol was arrested for the first time in 2017 in Rajasthan for demanding extortion from a businessman and firing outside his office. After being in jail for almost four years, he got bail in October 2021. After this he went abroad citing security reasons. According to the investigating agencies, he first reached Dubai, then Kenya and later America, from where he allegedly continued to conduct the gang’s activities through encrypted apps.

NIA had arrested in 2025

After being brought to India from America in November 2025, the National Investigation Agency had arrested Anmol Bishnoi in the alleged terror-gangster nexus case. Since then he is lodged in Tihar Jail of Delhi. Now he has also expressed his desire to appear before the court and join the legal process in the firing case outside Salman Khan’s house. Only after the court’s decision will it be decided how further action will be taken in this case by bringing him to Mumbai.
