Auto Sales June 2026: Auto sector picks up pace in June 2026, tremendous growth seen in tractor sales

Auto Sales June 2026 : Tremendous demand was seen in the domestic automobile market in June 2026. Most original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) reported year-on-year (y-o-y) growth in wholesale sales across passenger vehicle (PV), two-wheeler, commercial vehicle (CV) and tractor segments.

Demand in rural areas strong
At the same time, this excellent performance shows that people’s shopping, infrastructure related activities and demand from rural areas still remains strong. The entire auto sector is getting support from this.

According to industry data, PV sales in June grew by more than 24% year-on-year to about 4,00,000 units, compared to about 3,21,500 units in the same month last year.

The country’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki India sold 1,47,187 units during this period, which is an increase of 23.78% on an annual basis.

Mahindra tractor sales
The position of the tractor segment also remained strong in June. Mahindra’s tractor sales grew 12.38% YoY to 58,177 units, while Escorts Kubota sales grew 19.78% YoY to 13,172 units.

Vejay Nakra, President, Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra, said, “Although it is too early to fully assess the impact of El Nino, strong government policies such as continued fertilizer subsidies and local support can help reduce the risk to farmers. This can also reduce the impact on the Kharif season to some extent.”
