Pakistan Bus Accident – 40 Killed as Overcrowded Bus Plunges Into Balochistan Ravine

Pakistan Accident: A horrific road accident occurred in Pakistan on Friday morning, causing widespread shock and grief. A bus plunged into a deep ravine, resulting in the deaths of at least 40 people. The accident took place near the border between Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Officials stated that the bus had departed from the Dhansar area in Balochistan’s Sherani district and was heading towards Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when it fell into the ravine. Reports indicate that 40 people have died, while many others are reported to be injured.

Shahid Rind, the Advisor on Media and Political Affairs to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, stated, “According to initial reports, 40 people have died in this accident, and eight others are reported injured.”

According to Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind, the accident occurred in the Dana Sar area. It is reported that the bus was speeding along the highway when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to plunge off the road into a deep, rocky ravine.

Relief and Rescue Operations Underway

Rescue operations were launched immediately following the incident on the orders of Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti. The statement noted, “The district administrations of both provinces, rescue teams, and other relevant departments are assisting those affected.”

According to media reports, Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep sorrow over the accident. He conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased and directed officials to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the injured.

Expressing grief over the tragedy, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti directed the administration to accelerate relief and rescue operations and ensure there is no lapse in medical care for the injured.
