CM Yogi inaugurated the Mango Festival, said- Uttar Pradesh is the leading state of the country in mango production.

Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the ‘Aam Mahotsav’ organized in Lucknow on Friday. During this, he took information about the characteristics of different varieties from mango growers. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that in the 9th Uttar Pradesh Mango Mahotsav, 800 varieties of mangoes from across the state and also from different states of the country have been displayed together. Langra of Varanasi, Gourjeet of Gorakhpur, Amrapali of Basti, Dussehri of Malihabad (Lucknow) and Rataul of Baghpat and Saharanpur are also displayed here. The wonderful varieties of mangoes from different districts of the state, encompassing the aroma of their respective soil and local sweetness, are attracting everyone with their unique identity in this festival.

He further said, the 9th Uttar Pradesh Mango Festival is a powerful platform not only for the state but also for the farmers of the country to showcase their products. Here, farmers can present their products and work towards giving them global recognition through ‘Buyer-Sellers Meet’. Malihabadi Dussehri mango has now received GI Tag. Receiving GI Tag means that it has now become a global brand.

The Chief Minister further said, today mangoes of Uttar Pradesh are being exported to countries like UK, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore, Kuwait, New Zealand, Belgium, Japan, Italy, Qatar, Russia etc. To keep the memory of the immortal martyrs of Kakori alive, we have given a new identity to Malihabadi Dussehri mango and established it as ‘Kakori Brand’.

We have set up mango pack houses in Saharanpur, Lucknow, Amroha and Varanasi. Through these pack houses, proper arrangements for grading, sorting, packing and export of mangoes are being ensured. Integrated Fruit Testing and Treatment Park is also being constructed at Noida International Airport. Fruit cover bag technology is being used to increase the production and quality of mango in the state.
