Patna. Bihar government has taken a new decision regarding the security arrangements of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi. The government has reinstated Z category security of both the leaders. Along with this, the facility of bulletproof vehicle has also been made available for his convoy.
This decision has come at a time when there was a lot of discussion in political circles some time ago regarding changes in the security system. Now, after the new decision of the government, both the former Chief Ministers have again got the same security arrangements as before.
Security was reduced earlier
Some time ago, during the controversy related to government residence, the state government had reviewed the security arrangements of many leaders. In this process, the decision was taken to reduce the security of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi and Tej Pratap Yadav. However, at that time no change was made in the security arrangements of Tejashwi Yadav and Misa Bharti.
After the change in security, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi did not accept the security arrangements provided by the government. Later, political reactions also came to light on this issue and there was a round of allegations and counter-allegations between the party and the opposition.
Now the old system has been restored again
Under the latest decision of the government, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi have again been provided Z category security. With the restoration of security, bulletproof vehicles have also been made available for their movement. Earlier they had this level of security.
What is Z category security?
Z category is considered one of the important security arrangements available in the country. In this category, a special team of trained security personnel is deployed to protect a VIP. The security cordon is active 24 hours a day and special security is provided during the stay as well as during the visit. The convoy consists of several security vehicles and bulletproof vehicles are also used as per requirement. The purpose of this arrangement is to ensure the safety of VIPs from potential security risks.
